Starry Night Over the Rhone

As the images and narration progressed in the visit with Vincent it was almost painful to see how his mental illness was taking over him.
He developed his signature style while in Arles France in 1888.
Van Gogh became very interested in the effects of light at night, particularly artificial light.
Starry Night Over The Rhone shows his love of colors is full of vibrant energy.
The sky even elicits a sense of tranquility.
He artwork did not yet reveal his inner turmoil.
The other Starry Night was painted only a few months after this one and you can certainly see a huge difference in style.

This looks wild and very impressive. I wish I could see it. I really appreciate the your stellar images bringing the experience to me as much as possible without actually being there. ~BV~

even these brushstrokes seem agitated, yet work well to chart the dance of light on the river...that's resourcefully portrayed too Jane..
