This was the plane I came to see on this visit to the Airport, because Malaysia was the first to fly the Boeing 777 to Perth. Prior to this to the best of my knowledge Malaysia was using McDonald Douglas DC-10 on the KL to Perth to KL route. They occasionally use A330-300s on this route as well, but if you get one demand a partial refund because their A330-300s don't have seat back videos!

Anyway once Malaysia put the 777 on this route an intense period of competition began between Malaysian, Singapore Airlines (who began phasing out the A340-300s, and replacing them with B777s) and Qantas (on the Perth to Singapore route phased out it's ancient B767s replacing them with A330-300s and B747-400s).
