Kantorp

Kantorp is fairly typical as a post-WWII mining venture fiasco, where heavy investments were made short before the mine was closed. With a mining history starting back in 1827, a modernization programme was initiated in the 1950s, where an all-concrete head frame was completed in 1963, together with a new concentration- and a sinter plant. The downturn in the iron mining industry turned the figures into the red and the mine was closed in 1967.

The head frame is today used by a local motor sports club and a ham radio society and seems to have survived decay and vandalism fairly well.
