Ah - it must be a BMW Isetta. One of many low-cost mini-cars introduced in post-WWII Europe. As prosperity grew, these economic alternatives disappeared.

The fact that these were obvious death traps as speeds and traffic density increased probably contributed to their demise...

In fact it's a Heinkel. They're pretty tricky to drive. I have never seen one in this shape...

There was a few of these on the road when I learnt to drive.
I never did drive one.

Nice shot of an Isetta orignally introduced in Italy by Iso and later produced by several makers around the world most notably BMW (before they became the "ultimate driving machine".
