BF5T7580.jpg

My godness - an upside-down MAR - Mercury Arc Rectifier in its original wooden casing, forgotten in the shadows of an abandoned industry. Note the ancient supporting straps with rusty springs attached to the casing.

We're talking about an an item that went out of fashion some fify years ago...

Note the pool of metallic mercury in the bottom of the glass bulb - it must be several kilos !! Let's hope nobody breaks it - mercury spill of that magnitude would be a really bad thing

Canon EOS 1Ds
1s f/8.0 at 35.0mm iso200 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

Det liknar den där "bläckfisken" (kvicksilverlikriktare) som fanns i Flygvapnets PS/08-radarstationer från det sena 50-talet fram till slutet av 70-talet.

Better it go to a museum.
Some use them to show how old electric trams worked. Have paying customers ride on the trams etc.
