The shovel loaders like this Atlas Copco LM56 was a big relief for mine workers since the hard body work of loading the ore cars was now automated. This type of loaders were introduced at the time of Stråssa's opening and most likely, they were used from the very beginning.

The overhead loaders however caused lots of injuries and deaths by squashing and as mine workers were hit by the shovel or pieces of rock that fell out of the shovel during the swing.
