The old Dm3s with their connecting rods and 1'D+D+D1' (2-8-8-8-2) wheel arrangement and the new asynchronous drive Co'Co' IOREs make them sound very different, even on far distances. However, when standing outside Riksgränsen and watching the bare nature of Katterjåkk, the train could be seen a few minutes before IORE 105 "Narvik" and 106 "Kiruna" appeared in front of the lens. This summer's maintenance work has included replacement of the cantenary poles and wire, which can be seen on the shining copper wires.
