Although viscose sounds quite like a "natural material" given it's almost pure cellulose, the process of making it is far from environmentally friendly. Highly toxic carbon disulfide is used among other tough chemicals.

Still in these premises, a foul smell of sulfuric compounds can be felt. Working (and living) here must have been hellish back in the days of full production.
