Ivy Mills, established in 1729 by Thomas Willcox, was the first of the Willcox mills and was hand-driven. Power mills came later. The Willcoxes were to have three paper mills at and near Ivy Mills, PA. Their customers included Benjamin Franklin and the United States Government. The Willcox Family has a rich history and some of them wound up in and near Jacksonville, Georgia.
