During the Dodge Troubles, Capt. Lucius Williams was shot and mortally wounded (1895) by John Kelly, US Marshal, and his deputized marshals, Cohen and Bob Garrison, kinsmen of Lucius Williams. It is said that Cohen did his shooting from this cotton shed - some say from the top floor at the small opening you see here at the top front of the building. It was a tragic, but interesting story about how things were after the Civil War in the pine barrens of Telfair and nearby counties. [Photo courtesy of Shawn Wells]
