The Pentona I was introduced in 1956 and has a very characteristic metal front which was dropped in the later model II. According to the "betriebsnummer" 37/361/1004 on the back it was produced by the VEB Zeiss Ikon, Dresden A21 . My copy is fitted with an excellent achromatic Meyer-Optik Görlitz Trioplan 1:3.5/45 lens and the simple Priomat leaf shutter with speeds 1:/30, 1/60, 1/125 sec. plus B.
Camera was a birthday gift from my oldest son and his girlfriend and was the start of my collecting efforts!
Tested the camera with a cheap colour negative film from the local warehouse and it worked just fine. Only 'problem' was that with about every tenth picture the transport was not working as it should.
