After the untimely death of her brother at the age of 22 Aaltje de Jong continued his recently established photography studio at the address Nieuwe Stad 53 (Smalle zijde) from 1895 up to 1934. After some years she opened extra branches in Heerenveen (1898 Bij de Grote Kerk, 1910 Op de Fok) en Sneek (1902 Kleinzand 28, 1930 Kleinzand 30). Since this CDV does not mention any other address than the studio in Leeuwarden it can be dated from 1895 up to 1897. However, the card was printed in Berlin by Prager & Lojda on the 16th of december 1897 so it seems reasonable to dat this card to 1898.
