Tallahassee / Quincy, Florida

Anywhere between 25 to 50 years ago, the previous owners of this old farm raised goats, and this was their home. That’s why to this day I call it “The Goat Barn”, although I don’t own goats and never want to. You can see in the background where I took a saw and cut the loft down making it into a long storage attic. My intention is to convert this delightful old wood and tin barn into a nice wood-working shop for myself, and this will be the next major project that I tackle after the studio is finished. Now it’s just used for storage and junk, much to my disgust. Gerie and I have disagreements over this fine piece of property on occasion, for somehow she’s gotten it into her head that either (a) we need to raise goats, (UGH!) or (b) that it needs to be a garden storage shed for her projects. Ha! Like that’s going to happen! So welcome to my future home away from home folks, … the “Old Goat’s Barn”. (Also known as “The Dog House” in some circles.)
Every man needs a Dog House, … er, … a Goat Barn to escape to.

Wow it looks like you have a lot of stuff there. Have you ever thought about getting a storage unit? Whenever my garage gets too full, I tend to rent one to clear up some space. It would probably do you a lot of good! http://safekeepingselfstorage.com/baytown/

Steady on there, Gerie, we’re approaching heresy now. Here in the UK [may I say Globally?] there has been fierce debate regarding female encroachment into one of the last bastions of the male domain – The Garden Shed [collectively; garden stores, barns, huts, lofts, lean-tos, dug-outs, workshops, garages, tool & potting sheds also hot, green, boat and glass houses. And on occasions including aviaries, animal runs and yes - dog houses.]
May I respectfully suggest that all you ladies out there should think most carefully before embarking on such a heinous course of action.

long sigh....yes, John does have a lot of 'stuff'!! We have a mutual agreement not to mess with each other's 'stuff', however, I still think goats would be wonderful and if I clean out the 'Goat Barn' first, I think I get to make it my garden shed! He has his studio, I have my garden shed. All is happy in the universe, yes?

I think I could entertain myself for hours going through all the stuff in your goat barn. BTW- Goats are good for keeping the lawn trim and well fertilized.

Well, I think that depends on who wins the argument. :) Hey, goats are cool. You've got a lot of stuff. That's going to be some project.
