Anywhere between 25 to 50 years ago, the previous owners of this old farm raised goats, and this was their home. That’s why to this day I call it “The Goat Barn”, although I don’t own goats and never want to. You can see in the background where I took a saw and cut the loft down making it into a long storage attic. My intention is to convert this delightful old wood and tin barn into a nice wood-working shop for myself, and this will be the next major project that I tackle after the studio is finished. Now it’s just used for storage and junk, much to my disgust. Gerie and I have disagreements over this fine piece of property on occasion, for somehow she’s gotten it into her head that either (a) we need to raise goats, (UGH!) or (b) that it needs to be a garden storage shed for her projects. Ha! Like that’s going to happen! So welcome to my future home away from home folks, … the “Old Goat’s Barn”. (Also known as “The Dog House” in some circles.)
Every man needs a Dog House, … er, … a Goat Barn to escape to.
