Around 2000 years ago, a man named Jesus was wrongfully accused by
his enemies and was put to a barbaric and terrible death. Many believe,
and I’m one of those folks, that three days later He rose from that death,
and in doing so defeated the hopelessness for all time of death for those
that believed in Him and followed His teachings and path.
This little lantern is basically the same design and style as those that would
light the homes of the folks that lived during that time. It’s a simple and
plain little affair, made by hand out of clay and fired to a brittle hardness.
Filled with oil, the light of this little lamp brightens my front porch every
night and helps to remind me of not only how far we have come in
2000 years, but also how much the things are the same. It’s a source
of comfort to me, … as is my faith.
A real man is not ashamed of his belief in God.
