Thanks Al, I have the sigma 12-24 but it has sure some flaws, so I thank you for the info, its something to consider on my wishlist for sure

Yes the detail and colours you get with the nikon lens is fantastic. Its ideal for me as manually focusing slows me down enough to consider my compositions more carefully when travelling light.
I didnt need to carry my tripod to get shake free exposures.. just the camera and the nikon for this series of images from Eriskay. I covered about 6 miles through some rough and hilly terrain and tried to make the route as easy as possible for me :)

Any wide angle lens works very well on North and South Uist due to the big skies you get. Putting subjects into the scenes is made so much easier.

great job.. to put them with the wide angle in these deserted landscapes. You like the combo, the nikon lens with the canon?
