The Chape (or Jake) is a floor zither from Thailand and Cambodia, called "crocodile" zither because it lays on the floor and sometimes knows tuning heads which are manufactured like a crocodile. The three strings are tuned in a fifth/octave and struck by a plectrum bound to the index finger.

Die "Jakhe" oder auch Chape ist eine Bodenzither aus Thailand und Kambodscha, die auch manchmal "Krokodilzither" genannt wird, da sie auf dem Boden liegt und manchmal in Form eines Krokodils geschnitzt wurde. Die drei Saiten werden mit einem Stab angeschlagen.
