The "Tyba" is really looking exactly the same like the Chinese "Pipa". An interesting fact though is the implementation in many ensembles and the lack of solo literature compared to the Pipa. Comparing both instruments one also realizes the missing of the virtuosity like we find in modern Pipa music.

Die Tyba sieht der Pipa nicht nur täuschend ähnlich, auch die Spieltechnik ist ähnlich. Dennoch ist die Sololiteratur nicht so ausgearbeitet wie bei der chinesischen Laute.
