I am fortunate that there is still a very good fishmonger in Leadenhall Market, which is near my office.
A decade ago Leadenhall Market was still a place to buy primarily food: there was a butcher, a greengrocer,
a poulterer and other food shops. Now only the fishmonger remains; the rest have been replaced
with fancy clothing stores and restaurants.
This morning, I bought the scallops and prawns that will become the first course of our Christmas lunch.
What I really wanted were some of those big red cooked lobsters at the back of the display ... maybe next year.
