Chose to give this camera a try after my son shared some of his images with me. I was blown away by the dynamic range and the fact that the Pixel did not blow highlights, unrecoverably, as my previous Samsung phones have. Google recently lowered the price by $150 and that was a good incentive to give it a try. With Best Buy I have 15 days to change my mind for a $45 restocking fee. I don't think I'm going to change my mind. I am enjoying it. Camera app isn't as fully featured and there is no photos gallery, only Google Photos, but I'll get used to it.
Week by week I fall more in love with this phone. I'm glad I ditched my devotion to the overexposing Samsung's. The only thing I would like this phone to have is a dedicated in phone photo gallery, as Samsung has. It only uses Google Photos.
Note: In general phone cameras shoot at wide angles, even at 1X size, so it's very important to watch the angle at which you are shooting, so you have the least distortion and the best treatment of the subject matter. I often will correct leaning sides, but sometimes I just let them lean.
