_MG_8118 Almost Turquoise!

Was shocked when I spied this one downstairs. It was definitely this color - looking almost turquoise. I think it's a female, judging from the segments in the lower half of the body.

I don't think so...I've seen mantids on this plant before and they didn't have this much cyan in their color.

It looks like maybe they reflect the colors around them.

How interesting! I am really puzzled as to whether they take on colors of what they rest on but I have not seen it mentioned.
