Digital zoom with the F30 is surprisingly good. Much better than what I've experienced with my other digicams. Be aware that towards the end of the zoom range the picture looks very pixelated on the lcd and you will have to hold the camera very steadily to get a sharp image. What you see on the lcd is not what the final image will be - it's a limitation of the lcd's resolution. Thanks to "copusmaximus" of the Fuji Talk forum at dpreview.com for calling this feature to our attention. (By the way, this was handheld, so I suspect it could have been even crisper had I used a tripod.)
