It Was So Dark

It was so dark in this room I could barely find Beegie. The only lighting was from some undercounter fluorescents about 15 feet from the cat, and a bit of light from a couple of 75 watt tablelamps in an adjoining room. I pointed the camera at her head and hoped the camera would focus. I did not engage the internal flash, so there was no flashing light to assist the focus. This is a resized down of the original image automatically processed by ACR with the auto exposure changed from +.85 to zero. The noise reduction in ACR was set at 5, not the default 25. Clearly the composition needs improvement. The next image actually was cropped from the first conversion where I accepted all the auto settings ACR chose, including a lightening of the picture.

Isn't it fun, when we get such a good low light shot:-)

You can clearly see it's dark, as the cat's eye pupils are wide open. I'm going to get myself a 350D I think, and I'll definitely have to think about getting this lens.
