Rudebekias in Mills River Park

While walking through Mills River Park I saw many yellow flowers with brown centers. They weren't all "brown-eyed Susans".

Google Lens helped me identify this one as yellow coneflower but a knowledgeable member of the Ashevile Plant People Facebook group said:

"It’s a Rudbeckia, black-eyed Susan. “Coneflower” really should be reserved for Echinacea. Which actually does come in yellow: Echinacea paradoxa. Paradoxa is very rare, but is probably what has gone into some of the new hot colored Echinacea."

Beautiful photo. I would have mistaken them as black eyed Susan’s. V

They're beautiful. I was surprised, too, when I found some electric pink ones.
