Who would have thought that after years of unsuccessful hunting for these, also known as Pfifferlinge in Germany, would have shown up in my lawn (under a maple tree).
I wonder how many were lopped off by the guy who mowed the lawn. I will mark off the area so they don't get chopped when next the lawn is mowed - they can proliferate for a long time.
I think the many, many days of rain have encouraged these to grow. I've never seen them around my property and we've been here for over 20 years.
