DSC02800 Crazy Lighting!

Taking pictures in my son's dark house with its crazy conglomeration of bulbs and red pendant lights in his kitchen offers a nightmare of challenges. Were I to expose to get those red glass pendants properly exposed so that you could see the red, you wouldn't see anything else. The LED lights in his dining room caused banding, so silent mode was out. The red ambient light was caused by those pendants.

My granddaughter's face was lit by her Chromebook. There was little other light in the room. I used DxO PhotoLab Elite for the RAW conversion.

I chose to get this camera mainly for low light situations and I was VERY happy that I could shoot at ISO 10,000 without being scared.

I also enjoyed testing out S & Q video modes with the constantly moving children. A fun addition to the dial.

Considering the challenges you outlined, you did exceptionally well. However, I'd never have known there were challenges had you not mentioned it, because this shot is so very good. VV
