PZ220142 fallen begonia blossom and cricket

Absolutely fascinated with these tiny, (body about 1 cm long) noisy creatures. They look harmless but I understand they bite. That blossom is from a small semperflorens begonia (otherwise known as "wax begonia).
Just came across this picture I took three years ago - completely forgot that I'd ever seen these insects before! This older picture was taken with a Canon 7D and Canon 60mm macro lens. Don't let the displayed EXIF for the picture above mislead you.

Me too... I am fascinated with these little creatures as well, and I always enjoy seeing them and hearing them. Lovely, evocative shot. V
