My husband built the lap and hammer dulcimers for me and I "played" with learning them, but the piano won out. They remain pretty to look at, if not used. The afghan is used to cover cat damage on the chair and a bag of dried meal worms for my birds (and squirrels) is visible behind the snake plant. By the way, this image, taken with incandescent light is a great example of how good the auto white balance is in this camera.
Oh my goodness - what a talented husband you have Isabel!! A wonderful indoor shot with this beautifully colored wall, makes such a warm atmosphere… Had to smile about Raymonds comment concerning the snake plant - same name here: Mother-in-law tongue... Irene
Wow, what a great hammered dulcimer AND mountain dulcimer, which looks just like my older instrument! You have a talented husband if he built these two fine instruments for you! So glad you posted this beautiful image. (Christine)
Beautiful decos Isabel, your hubby sure is talented. The snake plant is called something else here! We call that a Mother-in-law tongue! Why? because you just can't kill that plant! Love the dulcimer sound, doesn't it originate from the Persians (Iranian) from zillions of years ago?
