Yorkie shot by Tammy Rudd

This yorkie was a difficult subject for Tammy Rudd, who had to have him held by an assistant. The lighting washed out the beautiful fur texture and I felt I might be able to find some in Photoshop. I worked from a small file and using Adobe Camera Raw started by lowering the brightness a bit, and using the clarity slider to bring out more contrast. Opened in Photoshop I further edited by using the Mediachance's ReDynaMix plug-in which gives an "hdr" effect to images. Toned down the default garish color and contrast and then worked on the eyes and nose/mouth area with the dodge tool in PS set for shadows. Click on "next" to see the results of the editing.
