In 22 years I've only seen these birds 2 times - both in October. They seem to have suddenly appeared all over the place and I was very excited when they hung around this gloomy, dark afternoon as is began to rain, challenging the focus of my adapted lens and how much I could crop the images because the 200mm zoom wasn't quite far enough...as I shot through my sliding door. Nice thing about them is they seem to be less wary than other birds I've shot through my windows and sliding doors, so I was able to get lots and lots of shots before they took off.
