In the Pisgah National Forest (Western North Carolina)
A friend told me that she saw lots of vultures hanging around the trout breeding pools, so we ventured here this afternoon. At first there were several school groups and the vultures could be seen out of camera range. After the crowd thinned out they moved in closer. This is only my third day with the GH2 and I was disappointed that I missed focus on so many of the pictures I took. I used the Panasonic 45-200 lens. There are lots of new settings to learn, so I can only assume that some of my missed focus was due to operator inefficiency.
UPDATE: I figured out why I missed so many of my shots. The camera was on continuous focus, my subjects were constantly moving, and I didn't have enough time to lock the focus on the subjects, which didn't take up enough of the frame - something I learned while trying continuous focus on a dslr.
