It is fascinating to place the images that you, Tim, and myself each made of this pipe and pond side by side and compare how we interpreted it. (See:http://www.pbase.com/pnd1/image/69211869 andhttp://www.pbase.com/mityam/image/72603369 ) You give equal emphasis to the pipe and duck and the steam, but you also make the water seems to be pouring incongruously into the flowers. I took the most abstract approach, limiting the scene essentially to pipe and duck to stress it's incongrous steam bath. Tim made his vertical version a few minutes earlier, sans duck. But he stresses the heat of the water. Each of us makes a different point in a different way.
