In my husbands family there was an Edna I. Humway who was buried in the charity part of the cemetary. It had a hand carved out cross by the father Salem Humway. It’s unmarked and we would love to have a picture of it please. We’ve seen it once . We live in Ar. And are too old to make that trip again. She was born around 1909 and died approximately 1919. We want to put something up that identifies her. She deserves that. Please and thank you. I would login or register but I don’t know how.

You can contact Woody or any of the Vietnam Vets out of Bridgeport. They are the ones responsible for putting all of the flags on the graves the weekend before memorial day. If you cannot find their contact info, you can also try one of the Reckoning MC members out of the West by God Virginia chapter. They have been assisting the Vietnam Vets with the flags for the past several years and will be out there at 0900 on the 21st of this month doing so once again.

FYI, I contacted a funeral home and found that the Linwood Cemetery Association no longer exist. Colerain Township is now in charge of the cemetery, and they have the burial records, it is still an active cemetery. You can look up Colerain Township on the internet to get the current phone number. Linwood Cemetery, Blaine, Ohio

Hi, do you know how to get in touch with those who take care of this cemetery? My family has an ancestor's tombstone there who was a veteran killed in a war, and I understand the caretakers put flags on those tombstones every Memorial Day, yet our ancestor did not have a flag, so I wanted to make sure that tombstone got one next year. We live in Virginia and cannot get back to that area every year. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Veronica, I'm very sorry but I live in Colorado & have very limited time when we go on vacation. I only know these family graves. It's a very large cemetery & I wouldn't even know where to begin. You might try checking to see if there's a Belmont County message board on Ancestry.com that can help. I hope you're able to find it. :)

I believe that my mother's family is buried in this cemetery. Zelda (Laisure) Leasure. Her sister was Emma (Laisure) Meager. She also had a brother Clyde Laisure. Do you know if they are there? Was told the Laisure's had a large area w/most of family there. You can email me at abakerowen@yahoo.com

Re:post 20 Dec 2007 Amalie Toepfer died in 1896 in PA so is not buried in Linwood. Her first husband Karl Felix is buried there with his third wife, Marie L.

I am desperately searching for an ancestor of mine. I have sources that have told me that my great, great grandfather (Wilhelm Toepfer/Topfer) was married to an Amalie (possibly Roselt). I understand they spent time in Iowa and Kansas as well and had a son, Louis Franz Toepfer. I am hoping that this is the connection I need. Looking for great grandparents who lived in Blaine. Margaret McGary Thompson and Jonah or John/Jonathan or sometimes Joseph Thompson. Margaret died of typhoid fever in March of 1897. I believe her infant son Lewis did also about that same time. Thank you.

Looking for Toepfer's buried in this Cemetery. Have no way of getting back to Ohio. Looking for an Amalia Toepfer or Topfer who was shot and killed after 1891, before 1903. Her husband at the time and his third wife are buried here as well.

Searching for the gravesite of William Prorok. Born December 15, 1915 and Died April 17, 1917. This is my Grandmother's brother, and she & her sisters could never find their brother's gravesite. The family was from Wolfurst, and at the time they were members of St. Anthony's in Bridgeport. Thank you very much!

I would like to add that Francis Breedlove was son-in-law to Alice and Matt Arkle married to their daughter Elizabeth, who passed away about 2 years ago. I am interested were she is buried - Her name was foreign sounds like cowcheck. Francis was her first husband and she remarried after his death. She lived in Barton in the family home.
