The Palouse region of Washington is a favorite for a lot of landscape photographers due to the rolling hills and colorful quilt patterns created by the contrasting color of the different crops.
Late Summer is a good time to capture all the beauty of the area and it's interesting to see the harvest activities in process. Unfortunately this is also a time when there have been wildfires in other parts of the state causing some reduction in visibility depending on wind conditions. This year was no exception although it was nowhere near as severe as the previous year. At least this time the "air could be cleared" somewhat in post processing by use of de-hazing tools.
I've included a shot of the Garfield County Office in Pomeroy and the Sweet Creek Falls next to the Pend Oreille River in northern Washington.
