Chinese Houses, Collinsia heterophylla

Collinsia heterophylla, found in Almaden/Quicksilver
County Park near the Mockingbird entrance in late April.

Genus Collinsia comprises about 25 species of annuals, many found in California.
Collinsia has been traditionally placed in the snapdragon family Scrophulariaceae,
but DNA research now suggests it belongs in a separate, enlarged family, Plantaginaceae.
