There seems to be no agreed vernacular name for this beautiful species, so I will call it
Multicolored Collinsia based on its binomial name, Collinsia multicolor.
This one was found in shade at Edgewood Preserve, poking up through
Goldback Fern. It is listed here as "rare/endangered."
The genus includes the Blue-eyed Marys and the Chinese Houses. Unlike the more reddish-
purple Chinese Houses, the flowers in this species do not generally surround the stem.
