Leafcutter Bee, Trachusa timberlakei
Family: Megachilidae, Leafcutter and Mason Bees.
These bees gather pollen on their abdomens rather than their hind legs like most bee families. This method is inefficient which
makes these bees great pollinators! They have to make many more visits to a flower to gather enough pollen to provision their
burrows; they also use a swimming motion which tend to mix up the pollen. Inefficient pollen collection = effective pollination!
