With the exception of the Honey and Woolcarder Bees, all the bees in this gallery are natives. Typically, native bees
build a tunnel or burrow of some kind. They then stock it with pollen, lay one or more eggs, then seal the opening.
Bumblebees collect both pollen and nectar, but do not make honey. They store nectar as a thin
unprocessed liquid that can last only a few days; thus, they do not build a food supply for winter.
Honeybees have barbed stingers that can be used only once. Other bees (also wasps) have
