Interesting specimen. This old boy has just about worn his wings out -- he's got only a few days left. He shows none of the scratches that occur
in mating, and there weren't any females present this day, so it appears he might die without ever having coupled with the opposite sex. Pity.
I saw five males and no females in 2.5 hours. Can't tell if the girls haven't shown up yet, if they're all gone, or if they're hiding in the rushes waiting
for warmer weather. Could be any of the above. It was a cool day -- 60F, strong northerly breezes, mostly sunny with cumulus and other high clouds moving over fast.
