condensation on fungal hyphae

Early morning on the trails at Almaden Quicksilver County Park,
spotted two examples of condensation on tiny filaments (see next).

This one looked like a small silver ring on the trail; actually, it is a bit of
organic matter, probably scat, that is hosting a fungus; the fungus has entered a
fruiting or reproductive phase where it extends fine filaments called hyphae. This
is supposition, not confirmed even after consultation with knowledgeable field biologists.

In any case, conditions were such that condensation formed on the filaments in droplets of
different sizes. The droplets at this point had neither coagulated together nor dried up.
Further, the filaments are supporting them in a kind of corona configuration. Quite unusual.

Unfortunately I was not carrying my best macro equipment (it was a long
hike) so I was not able to get the quality of shot that I would have liked.
The second example of unusual condensation was only a few feet away (next).
