Early morning on the trails at Almaden Quicksilver County Park,
spotted two examples of condensation on tiny filaments (see previous).
This one looked like a small glittering patch on the trail. Close inspection reveals a
collection of water droplets, no doubt night-time condensation (dew) supported by some kind
of filaments, likely produced by some kind of spider. This is speculation, not confirmed.
I could not see any filaments at the time -- the droplets just appeared to
float in air. You can see their shadows on the ground. A few tiny filaments
can be seen in the photo however, so I'm sure that is what they are.
I was not carrying my best equipment on this hike so I was not able to
get the quality of photo that I would have liked. A second example
of unusual condensation was only a few feet away (see previous).
