Ramped at Sunset

This CF-18 one many that flew in for Capt. Shawn McCaughey's funneral on Friday sit's on the ramp at sunset. Capt. McCaughey was Snowbird number 2 with the 431 Air Demonstration Team. His plane crashed from 300 feet on a practice flight before an air show at Malstrom AFB.
Capt. McCaughey dreamed of flying this type of aircraft next.

That's back when my name was still on the jet. It's sitting 20 meters from me in the hangar right now.

Nice shot Mike. (Nice to have an all-access pass.)

Great shot and a nice story. The low perspective is what makes the shot for me.

How sad that this Captain did not have the opportunity to fly this jet. Great shot of the plane.

Nice shot. My son is in the F-18 Diamondbacks Squadron currently in Norfolk, Va. He took us on a tour and said the navy didn't mind too much the taking of pics of the outside of the plane, but not to even think of taking a shot of the cockpit. This is a beautiful shot.

How'd you get so close? I figured the next shot would be security chasing you. This is a cool shot. My dad was a Navy pilot so I have always had an affection for planes.
