Yes this is an elevator!! Built from lumber from the old pool elevator in Herbert it was started over 20 years ago. The man that built it is in his 80's and most likely will never finish it, but his son may. The elevator siding board can been seen on the non finished dormer to the right.

He died on June 4, 2013. His wife died on Oct 29, 2014.

That was a very stirring documentary.

The CBC made a unique documentary entitled "Heaven Or Not" about this house and the man building it.

my grandmother lives up the street just west of this place, I remember as a small child going there with my father on summer and christmas visits wondering if he would ever finish that place, I never knew that it was lumber from the old pool elevator.
