Thanks for your comments Bruce. Certainly stopping down will help with sharpness as it increases the area in focus. As I handhold my 400mm, some shots make suffer from camera shake. Chris

Great shots. Your 400mm lens seems noticeably sharper when you stopped it down a bit. Have you noticed the same thing?
