We had a small family and friends party for Ian's birthday on Wednesday evening. With everything going on lately, we are trying not to overdo anything. So, we're just taking little nibbles at our to-do list. Next Wednesday, we'll have more of a kids party, plus anyone who didn't make it this week.
I didn't have to cook anything, so that was sweet. Margaret whipped up some sloppy joes with an all core pasta salad and cole slaw, plus other goodies. Quick and simple. Amber helped out with the grocery shopping earlier in the day. Even with her help, Momma pushed the limits a little too far, so she's taking it easy today. It was a nice little party.
Timing was the key this day. Earlier, a package had arrived for Ian with the return address simply listed as LARKIN. It was such a nice gesture for them to send Ian a gift, and they sure did pick the right stuff for this kid. Hot Wheels!! I've always said that a kid can never have too many Hot Wheels. Right Mom? ;) I'm not sure who picked out the set with all the police cars, but I'm guessing it was Ella. She's such a smart shopper.
Ian loves them, and they found a spot in the case right away last night. Thank You, Larkins!!
