I can't help but immediately think of period photography when I see a grainy B&W street shot - I've always been partial to B&W candids and the grain of these classic style shots never bothers me a bit. This has an almost paparazzi feel to it, as if a celebrity has just noticed the photographer.

Changing it to black and white, and giving it a noise treatment, really takes away any notion that this is just a snapshot, and makes us think about what we are seeing. The title makes us think that we might see this everywhere in Europe but I can't help thinking that this girl and her striped top are special.
