I took this photo near the summit of Camelback Mountain after climbing the eastern Cholla Trail. The vista is looking southeast into Scottsdale and over the two Phoenician Golf Courses at the mountain’s base (Invergordon & Camelback Roads). The Cholla Trail starts with a series of switchbacks that ascend Camelback’s telltale granite hump, eventually leading to the “saddle” (the dip at the middle of the mountain). The trail then follows the ridgeline, seen in the foreground, to the summit.
