6/4/08 - Hog Camp Branch

Hog Camp Branch - Drains Big Meadows in Shenandoah National Park and after a short run of a little under a mile goes over Dark Hollow Falls. A popular hike in the park.
One day when I'm slipping & sliding over steep banks and rocks getting down to these streams (two tripod legs in the water here) I'm going to fall and break something (me and/or camera). The few falls so far have been of the "ouch it hurts the next morning" variety. I definitely don't move as well as I used to - being 70+ isn't what it's cracked up to be :>)

Oh, but what a wonderful vantage point for this capture.

The colors and water in the foreground are beautifully impressionistic, and I love the light on the ferns and right side.

(I'm surprised you got so much of a sense of depth at 40mm! I was anticipating a wider focal length before I read the specs.)
