Discontent

An ancient Chinese proverb:
Discontent is the first step in the
progress of a man or a nation.
(ok, so ancient as the fortune cookie I
had with the Chinese food on the table)

To quote Stewie Griffin quoting Shakespeare:
"Now is the winter of our discontent"

Now I know that calling anything I go
through or have "refugee" is absurd.
However, that is how some things have felt.
Really it was the lack of choice in the divorce.
I have called the patio furniture I got "refugee".
I hated it so much that I did not
want to even sit out on the deck!
It was mismatched and totally uncomfortable.
Well it went out with the trash last night.
Replacing it is a set that I picked out.
I have to say that although it may
not look it, it is just SO comfortable.
I had a nice dinner on the deck and
then just sat there enjoying the birds.
Lounging and feeling the breeze was WONDERFUL.
See, discontent is a wonderful thing.
It makes you do things you may not have before.
In the end I had a wonderful evening because of it.
I am getting close to being done with this
round of changes around my condominium.
The new kitchen chairs are on order.
The only thing after that is the nightstands.
I just cant seem to find a set I like (that matches).
After that there is only one thing left.
It is totally not needed, which is why it is last.
I was never wild about the coffee table my EX picked.
I guess it is nice enough, but it is not me.
It is a shame because it matches the TV stand.
However, I am not content with it.
And we all know discontent is the first step.
It may take me another year to find the one I want.
It amazes me how different my home is from a year ago.
Sure, a lot of "things" are the same.
But they are in new spots, or just different.
I like it much better this way.
So "Cheers" and "Good on ya".
Sit back and watch the trees sway in the wind.
I know I did, and I feel better for it.
My deck is now claimed for me.

PS: Anita, "Control" arrived in the mail today :-)
