My dad served in the U.S. Navy during that same time frame. While looking at a 1949 studio photo in Hawaii, he's posing with a fellow shipmate, and an unidentified Canadian enlisted sailor, who is a crew member of the HMCS Ontario.

I have this print on my wall here at home. It was a gift to my father Cdr Donald Clark who served onboard Ontario from 1946-1950 and from 1954-1958...just lucky I guess!! My name is on the ship's bell which hangs in the Maritime Museum in Victoria as that is where I was christened in 1948.
