Schoolroom chase, Simode, India, 2008

Our bus was passing through the village of Simode, between Delhi and Jaipur, when I saw these boys chasing each other through schoolroom windows. I instinctively raised my camera to the bus window and made this shot. I was amazed to see that I had caught the ins and outs of the moment. This schoolboy prank contains the seeds of incongruity. I was fortunate that it worked out even better than it looks.

Well said, Jenene -- after three weeks in India, one comes to see "structure" as an oxymoron.

Holi Hell - too funny. This is the classic boys will be boys image. Without structure to regiment their day, they are left to their imaginative playtime - another factor in growth.

Yes, Tim, school was out. It was the day before Holi, India's Festival of the Colors. All schools seemed to be closed, leaving these kids to raise "Holi hell." (I couldn't resist the pun.)

A wonderful moment. As a retired teacher I hope school was out, or else, this school needs some discipline.
